Welcome to Teen Travel Adventures!
The Riverbend Teen Adventures program takes young teens out of camp and on the road for day-long or week-long adventures! You’ll find us down at the beach and up in the mountains. We’ll be boating, biking, seeing the sights and exploring the world!
Day Trippers
Day Trippers is an option for boys and girls currently in 6ht, 7th or 8th grades who want to be home each night. The group takes day trips Mondays through Fridays. Some of our excursions are to Broadway, a cooking lesson, yoga, rock climbing, community service, baseball games, mini-golf, boating on the Delaware and Camelbeach Water Park, to name just a few!! Click here to see our 2012 Day Trippers Calendar.
Experienced, mature male and female teachers who work with and understand young teens supervise the Day Trippers group. This program gives teens a safe and supportive environment for learning social skills and independence. The group travels in our own yellow school buses.
Day Trippers travel to and from camp on the regular camp bus, except one day a week, when parents pick up campers at 6:00 pm. Click here to see photo hightlights from the Day Trippers program.
Campers finishing 6th grade have a choice to participate in Day Trippers or Teen Travel or attend our in-camp program. A few even choose to combine each of these programs in one summer!
Teen Travel
Kids currently in 6th, 7th and 8th grades may choose our Teen Travel program and leave the boundaries of Camp Riverbend for 5 days at a time. The group travels to exciting destinations like Vermont, Pittsburgh, Western Virginia, Lake Placid and Quebec City. Teen Travelers leave Camp most Monday morning and are away until Friday afternoon; they are hoem every weekend. Click here to see our 2012 Teen Travel calendar.
While on the road, our Teen Travelers go sightseeing, attend baseball games, go kayaking, explore underground caves, learn to surf, ride roller coasters and still have time (and energy!) to make great life-long friends. Click here to see photo highlights from the Teen Travel program.
Teen Travelers stay in mid-level hotels and motels, four to a room (same gender, of course!) They eat a healthy variety of food at local restaurants as they travel about. Many excursions are taken in a modern air-conditioned motor coach.
Experienced, mature male and female teachers who work with and understand young teens supervise this group. Our counselors help Teen Travelers learn to take responsibility for themselves, their belongings and their behavior. The Teen Travel program gives kids a safe and supportive environment for learning independent social skills.
